Hmm...Started a blog finally...Wanted to do it in a long long time...Hopefully will keep it up...I named the blog as "everything" as thats what i am gonna do...Criticize everything... :)
The main inspiration for starting s blog was an incident which took place in Delhi(which I visited a few weeks back). The incident was thus:
We had gone to the famous Lotus Temple in Delhi and when we were returning back the road leading to the exit was quite full.So I along with my friends took a path which was beside the road which led through the garden. This path was empty except for us and a pair of foreigners were also walking ahead of us.In a few minutes a security guard came up and started whistling at us asking us to move away from the path and come back to the road.
I was quite irritated because of this as there was no meaning for making us move away from the path.My irritation turned to anger when the security guard just didn't do anything and turned blind when it came to asking the foreigners to move away. They simply walked happily ahead where as we were left to push through the crowd and head towards the exit.I thought "oh my god we have been discriminated" and I was so angry.
Ok Ok.Discrimination?!?MAy be or may be not.Might be he didn't know English so was feeling awkward to converse with them.Might be the management had given specific orders to be liberals towards them "goras".
I thought about a lot and I came to the following conclusion:
1)If all were allowed to walk in the path then definitely the garden through which it passed would have been spoilt.
2)We Indians don't give a shit about others property or feelings. For example in the same lotus temple when we enter a strict silence has to be maintained. This because it will be easy to concentrate and meditate. All who enter are given the strict instruction to do so.But when I went inside I was shocked. No one seemed to care. There were continuous disturbances, couples talking, children shouting, parents not caring and simply talking. Not only did they miss their chance they made others miss theirs to.
3)Third,as a traveler friend of mine told 99% of Indians who go to sight see are tourists and not travelers. We don't care about local culture, their feelings, their beliefs, nothing. We go throw some cash around, shout(especially the ladies),make the children piss right in the middle of a road, show no respect and it goes on.Take our case we had to go through the path even when everyone else was taking the road.
Hmmmm...Point 2 & 3 are the same...Well its stressing the same the thing.

CONCLUSION:Its the mistake of the management, the mistake of the security guard, the mistake of the government(ALWAYS CRITICIZE THE GOVT. EVERYONE WILL BE HAPPY!!!),but the main mistake was ours, not just me and my friends, but US,the INDIANS.If all of us had behaved politely and respectfully to our hosts around the country this might not have happened.Remember if you are a host today tomorrow you will be guest tomorrow.
So is it or it not discrimination? What say?
